How did you start your data analyst career?

My career began as a Financial Analyst, where I mainly analyzed data and created reports in Excel, focusing on repetitive tasks. Once I learned about Power BI, I saw how automation could elevate data analysis. This prompted my transition into the data analyst field.



What do you appreciate most about our company culture?

I appreciate the collaborative environment and open communication within the company culture. There is great emphasis on teamwork, continuous learning, employee support, and personal growth. Additionally, the company's commitment to work-life balance and creating an inclusive, respectful atmosphere makes it a great place to work.



What’s been the biggest challenge in your role, and how did you overcome it?

One of the biggest challenges I faced was managing large, complex datasets and ensuring accurate reporting under tight deadlines. I streamlined workflows by creating dynamic dashboards and using advanced DAX functions for complex calculations. This improved both efficiency and accuracy, allowing me to consistently meet deadlines and provide more valuable, actionable insights.



What advice would you give to someone starting out in your role?

For someone starting out in financial analysis and business intelligence, my advice would be:


  • Build a foundation in data

    Data management, Excel, SQL, Understanding the basics of data analysis.

  • Learn data visualization tools

    Invest time in learning data visualization tools like Power BI or Tableau.

  • Develop problem-solving skills

    Be curious and analytical. The ability to break down complex business problems and find data-driven solutions is key in this field.

  • Stay adaptable

    Technology and tools evolve rapidly. Keep learning and stay updated on new trends, especially in automation and AI, to remain competitive.

  • Focus on communication

    It’s not enough to analyze data; you need to present it clearly and effectively to stakeholders. Developing strong communication skills will set you apart.

  • Gain hands-on experience

    Whether through internships, side projects, or certifications, applying your skills to real-world problems will accelerate your learning and career growth.



What's your favorite aspect of working with your team?

My favourite thing about working with my team is the collaborative spirit. We constantly support each other, share knowledge, and tackle challenges together. The open communication and mutual respect make it a truly positive and motivating experience.



Who or what inspires you in your career?

I am inspired by individuals who constantly seek to learn, innovate, and push boundaries. Problem-solving motivates me - the challenge of taking a complex issue, breaking it down, and finding an efficient solution is something that inspires me.



What activities do you enjoy outside of work, and how do you maintain work-life balance?

Outside of work, I enjoy traveling, working out, and playing chess, table tennis, and cricket. To maintain a healthy work-life balance, I prioritize setting clear boundaries between work and personal time. Effective time management and task prioritization help me stay efficient at work, allowing me to fully disconnect and unwind afterward.



How do you stay current with trends and advancements in data analytics?

I regularly follow industry blogs, attend webinars, and participate in online communities related to business intelligence. I also pursue certifications and courses to enhance my skills, especially in Power BI, data analytics, and automation.
